Your customers come with you. Here is exactly how.

Gas App keeps your customers in your phone's contacts and sends each certificate to you as a PDF by email — there is no export button in the app. So the move is two parts: get your contacts out as a vCard file, then import that file into GASpilot. Ten minutes, start to finish.

Part 1 — export your contacts from the phone

iPhone

Open Contacts → tap Lists (top left) → touch and hold a list → Export. Save the file to Files, or AirDrop / email it to yourself.
Or on a computer: icloud.com → Contacts → select all → the Settings cog → Export vCard.

Android

Open Contacts → menu → Settings → Export → Export to .vcf file.
Or on a computer: contacts.google.com → tick the contacts (or a label) → Export → vCard.

Tip — export just your customers. Your phone book also holds family, mates and suppliers. Put customers in a list (iPhone) or a label (Android / Google) called Customers first and export only that. Anything that slips through can be deleted from the Customers page in seconds, or the whole import undone in one tap.

Part 2 — import the file into GASpilot

  1. Sign in to GASpilot and tap Settings.
  2. Open Import customers from another app (CSV or phone contacts).
  3. Tap the file button and choose your .vcf file (on iPhone it will be in Files; on Android in Downloads).
  4. The mapping screen opens. For a contacts file it is already matched — Name, Company, Phone, Email, Address, Notes. Set any field you don't want to — skip —. The three-row preview shows exactly what will go in.
  5. Tap Import N customers.
  6. Read the summary: how many were added and how many were already in your app. Anyone with the same email, or the same name and phone number, is skipped — no duplicates.
  7. Wrong file or wrong column? Tap Undo this import on that summary and everything it added is removed.

What you'll have afterwards

Every customer, ready to pick

Name, phone, email, address and any notes from the contact card. They prepopulate new certificates, invoices and quotes.

Reminders, if you add the dates

Gas App never stored renewal dates in your contacts. If you know them, make a tiny spreadsheet — Name, Address, Next due — save it as CSV and import it the same way. Each row becomes a migrated record so the calendar, Upcoming Jobs and reminder emails start working straight away.

Old certificates as data

Gas App only ever gave you the PDF. Keep those emails — they are your records. GASpilot starts issuing from your first new certificate.

Landlord → property links

A contact card can't hold "this landlord owns these three flats". Add a tenant on the customer's row (+ Tenant) or simply pick the landlord on the first new certificate and the property is saved under them from then on.
